nothingness beyond eternity

and then i closed my eyes and the forest behind me awoke. sheer rays of light blinded my eyes while wild owls screamed at my back. i ran across the field of dead flowers and the sun suddenly faded away as someone had painted it grey. coldness struck me and i found myself lying in the midst of the field, while black crows circled across the leaden skies. it started to rain and my fingers turned blue from the freezing pain. i fell asleep and found myself in a white and soothing dream where everything was possible. my head turned and i felt dizzy, but then it all stopped and there was nothing anymore. the darkness had secretly crept inside my scull and tore away my dreams, dreadfully taking over my mind and i died. i opened my eyes and i was home.
